Blue Sparrow

Meet The Artist - Erin Sparrow

I fell in love with art as a way to wind down from my job as a CPA. After graduating college, I began working as a tax accountant at a large firm in Colorado. Working three tax seasons (with long days and little sleep) taught me that life is about more than the grind of an office job that wasn't allowing me to thrive creatively. I left the firm shortly after this realization and found an accounting job that was more flexible and would allow me to maintain my creative outlets (and my sanity!).

I enjoy my new job at a small family-owned business, however I still find myself doodling pottery designs during meetings and counting down the hours until I can be in the studio again after work. I love the challenge of creating something unique, handmade, and colorful in the midst of my otherwise black and white world as an accountant.

Through all of my career-seeking ups and downs over the past few years, the pottery studio became my personal sanctuary and I aspired to someday open my own studio and storefront. Selling pottery was a distant dream until I decided to open Blue Sparrow Pottery with the encouragement of family and friends. I hope to expand my store in order to bring hand-crafted items to more homes and families.

When I'm not in the studio or working, you can likely find me doing any and every outdoor activity that the beautiful Colorado has to offer! I hope that each one of my pieces reflects this beauty to ensure a wonderful addition to your life and home.
